Edvectus is recruiting for NUMERACY COACHES assisting the Brunei Ministry of Education.
This is a mentoring/coaching post in a project that seeks to provide assistance to the Brunei Ministry of Education (MoE) to effect changes in classroom practice, and to help raise the level of Numeracy amongst Primary and Secondary students in government schools.
The Government of Brunei Darussalam has made raising standards of literacy and numeracy for all pupils a priority. An ambitious new programme has been launched that accelerates the development of literacy and numeracy skills in all schools, ensuring its young people all reach their potential whether they are planning to enter further or higher education or the employment market.
Education Development Trust (the Trust) will be working with the Ministry of Education (MoE), providing direct support to the programme over a period of three years. The project will consist of a 6 month inception phase followed by an implementation phase of 2.5 years.
The Numeracy Coach, reports to the Head of Numeracy and is responsible for working collaboratively with teachers in MoE- identified schools to build capacity and support the improvement of Numeracy skills for students.
This role will be based in Brunei, working as part of a team of approximately 30 people.
They are looking for a candidate that meets the following requirements:-
Teaching Qualification (BED, PGCE Dip in Teaching etc)
Significant knowledge ofNumeracy teaching and learning practices
. 5 Years + of fulltime teaching experience.
. Experience in giving Numeracy example lessons to other teachers, preparing resources and providing teacher mentoring. You will not be based in one school but a number of schools.
In return our client will offer:-
Salary BND72,000 + CCB of 1/6th of salary (tax free)
2 year contract starting from January
Have to buy or lease their car
Flight at beginning and end of contract
Mid contract flight or flight allowance (to be confirmed as depends on starting date.)
Schooling allowance as for teachers up to 2 children
Basic Medical insurance
Please note - No dependent or spousal allowances are available.

Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia, and it is separated into two parts by Limbang, which is part of Sarawak.
