PRIMARY / ELEMENTARY SPECIALIST TEACHERS NEEDED FOR SCHOOL IN DUBAI - PE - AUGUST 2018

The school offers an American education experience eventually leading to a High School Diploma for international and Emirati students. The school curriculum is designed to align to the New York State Learning Standards which includes the New York State P-12 Common Core Learning Standards. The school will initially cater for students from pre-KG to KG.

Candidates must currently be employed in an accredited US district school offering the Common Core State Standards. Candidates must hold valid and relevant US teacher certification. Teachers will be US citizens and mother-tongue English speakers (therefore no need to complete TOEFL as evidence of language proficiency). Candidates ideally should currently be employed in a New York State district school with greater preference given to New York City district school experience. Candidates holding valid and relevant New York State teacher certification may receive preference. TWO years pf post qualification experience is an essential pre-requisite.

Elementary School subject teachers must have a degree that is the same as their teaching subject. This means that a PE teacher with a Business degree (or any degree other than PE) may not be accepted. If the candidate’s degree certificate is vague ("Bachelor of Arts" or "Bachelors of Education") or does not match their subject, the candidate will need to submit 'transcripts'. If the courses on the transcript don't very obviously match the teaching subject (e.g., PE courses for a PE teacher) then candidates will likely be not suitable. In addition, Elementary School teachers must have teacher training (i.e., education/teaching degree or advanced degree) for the appropriate subject and level.  Preference will be given to candidates with relevant graduate degrees if all other elements are equal.

Only single or married teaching couples can apply; those with a non-teaching spouse can be considered on a case by case basis. No dependent children possible.
