This relatively new international school that opened in Johor Bahru in 2014 is looking for a Secondary Mandarin Teacher to join them in August 2018.

They are looking for teachers who have IGCSE and IBDP experience, at least 3 years, recent, with the appropriate DP qualifications. and previous overseas experience if possible and definitely candidates who have flexibility, adaptability and resilience given they are a relatively new school.

The school caters for pupils up to Grade 12 and offers a quality international education. They follow the IEYC and Cambridge IPC at Early Years and Primary level, the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (with Checkpoint examinations at Grade 8), Cambridge IGCSE (for Grades 9 & 10) and the IB DP for Grades 11 & 12 in the High School. In addition there are many co-curricular, extra-curricular activities, pastoral care programmes, clubs and sports teams and Arts, Drama and Music clubs.

The salary range is typically between RM12-15k per month plus benefits that include medical insurance, dental allowance, free tuition for one child and 50% discounted tuition for subsequent children (though if a husband and wife team work for the School, then both their children get free education), relocation allowance, annual flights, professional and development opportunities (sponsored by School), Professional and development opportunities (up to a certain amount, self initiated by staff and approved by Principal), visa application and costs all borne by school (for staff who require assistance in visa application for dependants, the School can assist the whole process, but visa fees payable by staff) and an accommodation allowance.

The school is situated close to the city of Johor - Malaysia's second largest city and a rapidly growing and lively city linked to Singapore by a 1038m long causeway and by many Singapore owned companies within Johor. Outside of work there is plenty to do and see in Johor including several theme parks (Legoland Malaysia is just one example), zoos, museums, galleries, temples and mosques and of course the numerous dining and shopping venues. The school is situated in Seri Alam close to the city of Johor Bahru- Malaysia's second largest city and a rapidly growing and lively city linked to Singapore by a 1038m long causeway which is kept busy by tourists (almost 50% of the tourists visiting Johor Bahru are from Singapore) and Singaporeans living in Malaysia but working in Singapore and enjoying the lower cost of living but higher wages! Many Singaporeans also flock across the causeway each weekend for shopping (there are many shopping districts and malls within Johor Bahru), dining and entertainment. Depending on traffic, it can take between about 1/2 hour and 1 hour to travel between the two locations. As well as by location and residents, Johor Bahru is closely linked to Singapore by the large number of Singapore-owned companies in the city.
