SPECIAL NEEDS TEACHERS NEEDED IN KUWAIT - AUGUST 2018

This is a school for moderate learning difficulties and teachers will be working in small groups across the age range from 3 to 16 depending upon the need. Teachers are expected to have a special needs qualification and at least two years of experience.

All instructional staff will receive training and/or orientation in the HighScope curricular program. Teachers are expected to:
 Understand and implement the HighScope curriculum.
 Review HighScope and other educational materials as frequently as needed.
 Make use of the professional resource materials in the offices of the Director of Education and the Curriculum Coordinators.
 Plan purposeful lessons every day avoiding copying and pasting of the same activities and the use of commercial worksheets.
 Send student work home at least once a week.
 Document anecdotes daily and understand their importance in the lesson planning process and development of the student.
 Communicate with parents weekly and document the communication.
 Keep track of children’s clothing and personal items.
 Keep track of parent forms and follow-up with parents to receive them in a timely manner.
 Actively participate in weekly review meetings with other staff members including specialists and other appropriate staff.
 Supervise your Assistant and Helper through positive role modeling, shared planning and team building.
 Maintain classroom orderliness and cleanliness.
 Supervise and interact with children on the playground, during field trips, and in the cafeteria.

The salary starts from KD750 and is offered with shared fully furnished accommodation, annual flights and medical insurance.
