The school opened in 2015 and has state-of-the-art facilities suited to all differing age groups and is equipped with the latest technology. They aim to bring a quality international education to Chinese children and offer multicultural programmes in a bilingual environment. Merging the Chinese National Curriculum with the international curriculum IGCSE and A Level exams are taken by Secondary pupils.

Downtown Shanghai takes about an hour and a half by metro and whilst this is a newly developing area with limited options for entertainment currently, it is growing rapidly. A new mall will open soon as well as museums and theme parks such as Shanghai Polar Ocean World, Shanghai Planetarium and WinterStar. Shanghai Polar Ocean World is due to open in July 2018 and – according to Lingang Management Committee - will showcase Arctic and Antarctic wildlife and include 4 interactive marine animal programs, 3 theatres and 15 other entertainment facilities. Several established universities will open campuses in the Lingang area and two new universities are opening now as well in September 2017. The area aims to attract 450,000 residents and 10 million tourists annually by 2020.
